Adygejska Autonomous

Soviet Socialist Republic, Adygejsk a ASSR - an autonomous republic in the Soviet Union, forming part of the Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic. Adygejska ASSR was formed just before the breakup of the USSR, 3 July 1991, whe n it raised the status and broadened the scope of autonomy adyghe, eliminating existing since 1922, the Adyghe Autonomous Oblast, and replacing it AdygejskÄ… ASSR. The Republic existed for a short period and was dissolved on the wave of changes and reforms related to the liquidation of the Soviet Union and acquiring sovereignty by Russia.
